Tunisair: Two weekly flights to London-Gatwick from Tunis
Tunisair has just announced the creation of a direct line linking its Tunis hub to London-Stansted. The national carrier now operates non-stop flights to England’s capital. This route will benefit from two frequencies per week, served by Airbus A319 or A320, every Monday and Thursday at 1:50 p.m. Return flights will depart London Airport at 5:55 p.m.
Tunisair has canceled its flights to London-Gatwick, but maintains those to Heathrow airport on Tuesday and Saturday.
At Stansted Airport, Manchester Airport Group (MAG) Director of Airline Development Mats Sigurdson said in a statement: “New routes are always exciting developments and Tunisair’s direct flight to Tunis offers even more passenger choice. Tunisia offers something for everyone, whether it’s a city break in the capital with its fascinating Roman archaeological sites or an all-inclusive holiday along the country’s famous Mediterranean coast. We wish them much success with this new route from London Stansted.”
On the same air route, the other operator Nouvelair launched its own line last week between Tunis-Carthage and London-Gatwick airport, announced for May 2020 from Enfidha and then suspended due to the health crisis. Until October 27, three weekly rotations are scheduled in the A320, with departures Tuesday, Thursday (from May) and Saturday at 3.45 p.m. to arrive at 6.30 p.m., return flights leaving the British capital at 7.30 p.m. to land at 10.30 p.m.
The flight connecting the capital of Tunisia to the British destination Manchester, also operated by Nouvelair for the end of March no longer appears in the reservation system, replaced by flights departing from Monastir-Habib Bourguiba from May 15, without competition: in addition to Sunday flights, others will be added on Wednesdays from July.
