Tunisair: Flights to China and the USA in a few years

The airline Tunisair should leave for China in 2024 or 2025 then offer flights to the United States of America the following year according to its CEO, who unveiled a restructuring plan that should globally reduce its network, its fleet and its workforce. .

During a press conference a few months ago at Paris-Orly airport, where he inaugurated a new agency, the CEO of the Tunisian national company Khaled Chelly detailed the “strategic withdrawal” that he will present in a month to the authorities. On the network side first, the company based at Tunis-Carthage airport has, according to its manager, “relaunched all its destinations”, “reviewed the profitability of each line since 2011” and will only keep “those that cover their exploitation”. This would mean, according to Jeune Afrique, the end of flights to Beirut, Prague or Ouagadougou. Additional frequencies are envisaged to France, other cities such as Dakar, Nouakchott or Cairo, on the other hand, should see their program decrease.

And on the long-haul, “we will go to China in 2024 or 2025 and to the United States in 2026”, promises the CEO, while Montreal should benefit from a third weekly rotation this summer.
