Air France resumes and strengthens its operations in the Tunisian sky
Air France, the airline between France and Tunisia, which will include in particular new connections to Tunis, Monastir and Djerba, in addition to those offered by its low-cost subsidiary Transavia.
In its press release taken up by the local press, the French national company explains that it has “stopped a program of consolidated flights for the summer 2022 season” on Tunisia, which has just relaxed its travel restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to the regular line between its base in Paris-CDG and Tunis-Carthage airport, Air France will launch a daily flight between Orly and the Tunisian capital on May 29, with departure by Airbus A318 at 2:15 p.m. (arrival at 3:40 p.m.) and return at 4:50 p.m. (arrival at 8:10 p.m.).
From the end of April, Air France will reactivate its line between Paris-CDG and Djerba-Zarzis “alongside” that to Monastir-Habib Bourguiba, “which will be operational during the high season peaks”.
During the months of July and August, the SkyTeam alliance company will set up seasonal flights to Tunis from Nice-Côte d’Azur and Marseille-Provence.
All these flights will be carried out “in complementarity with the Transavia network”, the subsidiary specializing in low-cost flights which is also preparing to enrich its flight program to Tunisia from Lyon, Marseille (to Tunis and Monastir), Montpellier , Nantes and Nice (towards Monastir).
“During his recent visit to Tunisia, Nicolas Fouquet, Air France-KLM Regional Director for North Africa and the Sahel, was successively received by the Ministers of Tourism, Moez Belhassine, and Transport, Rabii Majid . The delegation, also made up of Jean-Marc Breton, Director of Air France Tunis, and Karim Chouchane, Managing Director of Kars International, representative of Transavia, discussed with the ministers the outlook for summer 2022 in the air sector between Tunisia and France for the transport in particular of Tunisians living abroad and tourists coming on vacation”, reports Webmanagercenter.
